The Russo-Baltique Vodka, described as a ‘one-of-a-kind’, was burgled from Café 33 in Dybbølsgade yesterday (2 January).
Produced by military car manufacturer Russo-Baltique, this vodka brand is said to replicate the radiator of a Russo-Baltic car driven by a journalist from Russia to Monaco in 1911.
Russo-Baltique Vodka was first created in 2008 with funding from Kazakhstan royalty, to mark the centenary of the opening of the Russo-Baltique car factory.
The brand-owner claims that Russo-Baltique Vodka is not for drinking because “it is the brand of the vodka to be received by succession” and should be “part of the family artwork collections”.
Café 33 owner Brian Ingberg told TV 2 Lorry: “I have borrowed it from Russia from something called the Dartz Factory, which makes the world’s most expensive cars and vodka. It has been in my collection for half a year, but it does not do it anymore.”
Ingberg reported the theft to Copenhagen Police, along with surveillance images showing two masked men stealing the vodka, which he posted on Facebook.
He continued: “They obviously had a key or copied a key, and they rolled the grid gate up and locked the door, and then they simply entered the bodega and broke the door to the vodka camouflage down the basement. Then they wrapped up one bottle alone, even though there are 1200 bottles that can be taken”.
Decorated with white and yellow gold, the bottling also features a diamond-encrusted Russian Imperial eagle at its head.
The expensive vodka also made an appearance in an episode of hit US Netflix series House of Cards.
The Spirits Business has contacted Café 33 for further comment.
