“The Government is trying that’s why a company like this called Crime Alert came up just to assist the government to tighten up the security in the country.”
He further threw more light on how to make good use of the app when there is an emergency so as not to fall a victim
“Whenever anyone is in distress, all you need do is press the crime alert app on your phone, you don’t need to call anybody because we noticed that many Nigerians don’t know who to call whenever they are in distress and people who put a call through to distress numbers don’t give accurate description of what is happening to the security personnel which makes it difficult to locate the exact location at times. But with the app, you don’t need to say anything, the security operatives don’t need to know where you are calling from because the app will definitely tell them your current location so that they can come to your rescue.”
Olaniyan emphasized that Crime alert and security network connects with all the local security operatives as well as other security outfits so that whenever there is any emergency, a security personnel close to the scene of the incident will be sent there immediately.
Speaking on challenges, he said the Crime alert code is been abused by users of the app
“They raise false alarm many times and when the security operatives get there, they realise nothing is happening. We implore our users to desist from raising false alarm so that the security operatives can do their job perfectly.”
