Former Super Eagles Striker and 2013 Africa cup of Nations highest goal scorer, Emmanuel Emenike advices young players in Nigeria that winning for their motherland is a big deal which will be appreciated later in the future.
He made this statement in an interview recently where he spoke on his achievement in the national team alongside other issues.
According to the 32 year old footballer while speaking on his winnings in Afcon, he said ” playing Afcon was a great feeling at that moment. But I didn’t know how it was now that I have stopped playing for the National team and seeing the way people appreciate me when I go out there. So I advice young players to always put this in their mind. Winning something for Nigeria is a big deal, you won’t understand how big it is until you stop playing for Nigeria but it’s a big deal.”
Also while speaking on when he would get his next contract, Emenike made it known that he is not thinking about getting a new contract for now as he has other things up his sleeve.
“I don’t know when to get the next contract. I am not thinking about it this moment because I have a lot going on in my life, so I don’t want to put two things together. I want to finish one before going into another. As for contract, as for football, we will see when the time comes but for now, I am not thinking about it I just want to finish something that I am doing.” He said
Emenike featured for Greek Side Olympiakos as well as English Premier League club West Ham United, He also played for Al Ain in the Arab League, MP black Aces as well as Cape town in South Africa.
