The Senator-Elect for Osun West Senatorial district, Engr. Adelere Oriolowo, has congratulated the Muslim faithful not only in his district but across the country, on the successful completion of the month-long Ramadan while he also called for sustained prayers, for complete peace in the country.
In a statement he personally issued, signed and made available to newsmen on Monday, Oriolowo, said in spite of the Federal Government’s appreciable efforts in combating insecurity, it is imperative for the Muslim faithful to utilise this period to pray fervently for peace and unity in the country.
According to the Senator-Elect, “Eid-el-Fitri is a time of love and goodwill. It gives us a message to love all and hate none”.
Engr. Oriolowo who enjoined Muslims to remain true to the teachings of Islam, imbibed during the fasting period, even after the holy month, congratulate the entire Muslim brothers and sisters across the Osun West Senatorial District, for successfully observing Ramadan and prayers, with its life-enriching lessons in the virtues of love, forbearance, unity, patriotism, and self-sacrifice.
The Senator-Elect, said it is only by embracing justice, peace, unity and fairness that Nigerians can begin a rebirth, urging them to imbibe the tenets of love, tolerance, forgiveness and brotherhood which the period of the holy month exemplifies.
“As we celebrate this auspicious occasion of the end of the holy month of Ramadan, therefore, let us renew our faith in our nation and implore the Almighty God to restore to us those values that place high premium on human life, love for our country, love for our neighbour, dignity of labour and sharing even as we ventilate our faith in the unity of our dear country” he said.
Engr. Oriolowo who reiterated his readiness to always pursue the upliftment of the entire people of his constituency immediately he assumed fully at the Senate enjoined the entire Muslims to support him with their prayers as well as their unflinching support as he dedicates the victory to all and sundry.
“Like I used to say, I promise not to let everyone of you down by making sure that sharing of dividends of democracy would get to the door step of all and sundry”.
He however thanked the people for the demonstration of their love to him all the time, saying this is the right time for them to enjoy dividends of democracy.
However, Oriolowo urged the people of his constituency to continue to pray for the success of the incumbent administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the state.
He added that, people should join hand together with Alhaji Oyetola’s administration for him to achieve his aim towards the betterment of the people of the state.
