Popular actor, Saidi Balogun with family members have announced the postponement indefinitely of the burial ceremony of their late mother earlier scheduled to take place on the 27th of this month.
The decision was conveyed through a brief statement released in Lagos on Wednesday announcing that ” the family of Ajimoti in Omu Aran and Kobomoje family in Oja oba in Ibadan use this medium to inform friends and well-wishers that the final burial of our mother Madam Sariyu Agbeke Ajimati Balogun schedule to hold on the 27th of this month (March) at the 10 degree event center, billings way oregun, ikeja Lagos has been postponed till futher notice”
The event intended to host the who -is -who in the society was scheduled to have the Mayegun of yorubaland K1 DE ultimate and other notable acts on the band stand.
Speaking on the postponement of the event, Saidi Balogun said it is time for a sober reflection especially now that the world is facing a difficult time over the outbreak of the dread Corona virus.
According to the popular role interpreter, the recommendation of the World Health Organization regulations that there should be social isolations or self quarantine for at least 14 days should be respected, hence ”we have agreed that for the sake of those who are coming to celebrate with us on the final burial of our mother, the party is hereby postponed to a date that will be communicated to the general public very soon”
He thus urged all to abide by health tips recommended for the prevention of the Corona virus.
” Wash your hands with soup under a running water for at lest 20 seconds, avoid touching your mouth, nose and eyes, maintain a 2 to 3 meters distance from each other and if you must go out be very careful” Balogun admonished, adding that ” good health is most paramount.
”We must do everything possible to ensure we stay safe and free from the ravaging virus called Covid-19 that has proved to be no respecter of any one irrespective of town,colour,country and tribe. It is when we are healthy that we can be happy,rejoice and gather together to celebrate” he concluded.
