The monarch, who was installed about six years ago reportedly died at the Muslim Hospital, Ede on Tuesday after a protracted sickness.
It was gathered that the late monarch, a nonagenarian, was earlier flown abroad for treatment for an undisclosed ailment had to return to Nigeria when his condition continued to deteriorate.
However, the news of his death has not been made public by the Ode-Omu Traditional Council as the chiefs of the town are meeting on how to perform rites of passage for the late monarch.
Another source, who preferred anonymity, said remains of Oba Oke would be laid to rest today Wednesday around 10.00 am at the Alayegun’s palace, according to Muslim rites.
His last public appearance was at the swearing in ceremony for his son, Justice Sikiru Oke, as judge of the Osun State High Court on October 25, 2019.
