Arole Oduduwa & Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi,Ojaja II has urged politicians across the country to place Nigeria above any interest ahead of the 2019 general elections.
Ooni Ogunwusi who is the Co-Chairman of National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria said this on Tuesday at his Ile-Oodua Palace in Ile-Ife while playing host to the Peoples Democratic Party’s Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his wife, Chief (Mrs.) Titi Atiku who paid a courtesy visit to the Palace.

“We must put Nigeria first, because the country is greater than any interest.
“Though we are improving as a country, but we must do more especially by avoiding politics of aggression either as a member of the ruling party or the opposition.” Ooni said.
In his Speech, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar thanked the foremost African monarchi for receiving him and his team, describing the visit as a symbol of respect for the monarch and the kingdom of Ife as the source of Yoruba.
“Ile-Ife as the source of Yoruba race has undoubtedly impacted beyond Nigeria, and this visit is genuine to pay respect to the kingdom. All I have to do is to appreciate the Ooni, the chiefs and everyone here for making today a success.”
In Atiku’s delegation to the Palace are; National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Prince Uche Secondus, former Governor of State of Osun, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Hon. Albert Adeogun, Prof. Wale Oladipo, Senator Bamigbetan Baju and former governor of Ogun state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel and for Cross River state governor, Senator Liyel Imoke.
Others are; former Deputy Governor of the State of Osun, Chief(Mrs) Erelu Olusola Obada, Alhaji Fatai Akinbade, Mr. Adenigba Fadahunsi, Abimbola Ajilesoro, Osun State House of Assembly minority leader, Hon. Akinwole Safiriyu Akinwale Gbenga Owolabi, Hon. Wale Ojo Power, Dr Ayoade Adewopo among others.
