The Association for Good Governance network wish to emphatically express our strong believes in the rule of law and the promotion of good governance in developed and developing countries.
It is imperative to lend our voice to the voiceless by calling for proper and transparent trial of corruption levelled against the Chief Justice of the federal republic of Nigeria, Mr. Walter Onnoghen at the code of conduct tribunal (CCT).
It is important to note, that exposing empirical evidence that brigdes the gap between the perception and the reality of corruption is a tremendous contributions to stemming the tide against the canker.this act of exposure should be embraced by all loving Nigerians in the fight against corruption.
On this note, while commending the federal government of Nigeria on the unrelenting effort in her fight against corruption, we reiterate that the government should prudently exercise its right through the ambient of the constitution.
We maintain strongly that the integrity of the CCT process is very critical therefore, call on all stakeholders, government, political parties and politicians, religious and traditional leaders, international community and the general public to reframe from politicizing this investigation and allow the code of conduct tribunal to carry out his civic responsibilities without interference.
In conclusion, we wish to use this opportunity to call on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure that the forth coming general election scheduled for February 16,2019 is free, fair and credible.
